The remix itself is the connecting idea behind The Remixes, Vol. 71: versions credited to Crunchy CA$HEW, Larion (H), Dave M. Sanchez, Yokote and Johnny Funk place the emphasis on distinct readings of existing material. LW Recordings brings together house, tech house, minimal/deep tech and deep house in a sequence that does not behave like a single tempo band. The first entry provides the clearest exception: “BITCH ME A SODA (CRUNCHY CA$HEW Remix)” is listed at 104 BPM in B-flat major, well apart from the central area that sits largely between 127 and 131 BPM.
That centre is where much of the tech house material gathers. Larion (H)'s remix of “LOCA” is set at 128 BPM in F major; J.Wheel's “My People”, remixed by Dave M. Sanchez, reaches 130 BPM over 6:25; and Emilia Verdi's “Heaven”, in Yokote's version, stays at 130 BPM in G-flat major. “AIRAM (Marc Alex Remix)” holds the same tempo for 6:02, this time in E minor. Together, these are useful points within a tight mixing range without demanding abrupt tempo changes.
Minimal/deep tech introduces a different kind of variation. “Overflow (Lefrak Remix)” by Chicks Luv Us and Paul Trent is a 3:46 edit at 128 BPM, whereas Jota Music's “Desigual (KJ3 Remix)” reaches 7:48 in A-flat major. Further on, “The Human's Program (Alexander Lozovoy Remix)” and “The Overton Window (Dryspirit Remix)” extend to 9:33 and 8:46 respectively, both at 124 BPM. Those two cuts widen the time frame while remaining in the same genre field.
The route also includes three deep house entries: “Nocturna (Jan.dro Remix)” rises to 131 BPM in E-flat minor; “Deep 26 (DJ Marks Remix)” drops to 118 BPM in D-flat minor; and “Burnt Bubbles (Octave (RO) Remix)” sits at 129 BPM in D minor. Between those poles, “Keep Movin' (Ron Carroll Remix)” at 124 BPM and “Makes You Feel Good (G. Sharp Remix)” at 123 offer further ways to reset the pace. Rather than imposing one progression, the volume works as a remix library with compact stretches and carefully measured detours.
