Sixteen cuts and very few hard calls: almost all of this eleventh volume sits between 124 and 127 BPM, a pocket that lets you mix straight through without touching the pitch fader. The exceptions are exactly the useful intel for the booth: Joyce (ARG)'s 'Constant Lady' jumps to 130 and 'Freakin It Upside' by Paul Parsons and Adri Block pushes up to 128 — that's your peak-time material; the rest is flat highway.
The 124s own the opening slot. Levi Smith's 'Move' sets the warm-up tempo across a full six minutes, with Hello Frick's 'Hey Deejay' as the shorter alternative. The pedigree card of the batch also runs at 124: 'Lucid Dreaming' by Hatiras, the Toronto producer, two-time Juno winner, owner of Spacedisco Records and the man behind 'Spaced Invader' on Defected, his first UK top ten. Its 6:43 works just as well in the warm-up as a mid-set breather.
The harmonic find is in A minor: Paul Sirrell's 'Good 4 Me' (127), SINONIMO's remix of Kelly Reverb's 'Bailalo' (127) and 'Freakin It Upside' (128) chain three cuts with no tonal friction and a minimal tempo climb — peak time solved in a little over a quarter of an hour. And there's an elegant way out: Nicola Nisi's 'Midnight', in C minor, resolves naturally into its relative major, E flat, where Paco Caniza's 'Waiting For You' and Jackman Jones' 'Don't Follow Me' wait as the only two bright moments on a tracklist ruled by minor keys.
That the longest cut is 'Become One' by Mark Boson and DJ Trife (7:06, C major) and the shortest Ragash's 'Higher' (4:03) says the rest: RH2, a label built on compilation series like Infectious House and All About: House, works here less as an album to sit with than as a neatly ordered record bag, every piece shaped for a specific slot in the set.
