K.MARTIN Monthly Selection 005/2026: Techno at Its Finest
K.Martin returns with his fifth monthly selection of 2026, a compilation that maps the current state of techno with surgical precision across its darkest, most hypnotic and high-energy strands. Eleven tracks spanning peak-time devastation to the depths of raw and hypnotic techno, building a high-voltage editorial journey.
The selection opens with Black Vortex, K.Martin's own track on Diffuse Reality Records — a 139 BPM hammer in Gb Minor that sets the tone from the very first kick. It is followed by RVDMNTL's Asunción de la negativa, also on Diffuse Reality, which drops slightly to 135 BPM while gaining harmonic tension by shifting into G Major. Both sit firmly in Peak Time / Driving territory, forming a formidable opening bloc.
The heart of the selection beats within Raw / Deep / Hypnotic techno: Stroc's Nobody said anything (RI7MO, 144 BPM) injects raw minimalist brutality, while Submerge's remix of Agan2so for Cristian Varela on Konekt Croatia proves why Detroit's legacy remains an unavoidable reference. Special mention goes to Peerk's Detroit Become Machine (RIFT, 70 BPM half-time), a conceptual nod to the cyberpunk universe that breaks conventional tempo with intelligence and intent.
- Tu nuevo jardin – EL Joven Prisionero (PoleGroup): hypnotic techno from Madrid on one of Europe's most respected labels.
- Point Of No Return – Joton (Skryptöm, 6:49): the longest cut, outstanding density and narrative development.
- Covil dos Abutres – DJ Dextro (Mutual Rytm): a high-impact contribution from the Portuguese scene.
- Movement – Mark Broom (RSPX): British veteran delivering surgical devastation in just 3:24.
- Serpent Void – Surgeon (Tresor Records, 138 BPM, C Minor): the perfect closer — elegant darkness from Birmingham's master on Berlin's most iconic label.
A selection that balances established names — Surgeon, Mark Broom, Cristian Varela — with emerging talent, curated by a K.Martin operating at full editorial maturity.
