Oraculum: Timecode/Sangoma's New Visionary Compilation
Timecode Records and Sangoma Records join forces once again to deliver Oraculum, a 2026 VA compilation that functions as a sonic map of contemporary psytrance in all its breadth. With 14 tracks totaling nearly two hours of music, the release does not seek uniformity but depth: each piece is a portal to a different sonic dimension, though all share the same psychedelic DNA that defines the philosophy of both labels.
The compilation opens with Ritmologica by Nektarios and Inside Mind, a 148 BPM offering in Ab Major that sets the tone: organic rhythms interwoven with high-voltage synthetic textures. It is followed by Jiva Power, the three-way collaboration between Kacid, Daksinamurti, and Kaza (psy), which at 152 BPM in A Major deploys a hypnotic architecture of layers that grows relentlessly over nine minutes.
One of the standout moments is Dunes of Amal by Faeyan, almost ten minutes of psytrance in Gb Minor at 149 BPM, where the producer constructs desert landscapes with cinematic precision. At the opposite end of the emotional spectrum, Tenebris Oraculum by Krapul breaks the conventional BPM mold, sitting at 83 and exploring darker, more dreamlike darkpsy territories — a shadow interval that makes everything that follows shine even brighter.
The compilation also stands out for its tribal and ethnographic dimension. Hadzabe Tribe by Archaic, at 154 BPM in E Minor, directly references one of the oldest hunter-gatherer societies in the world, doing so with a production that incorporates primitive rhythmic elements over a devastating electronic foundation. Bush Masters by Konebu and Muirakitan, at just 75 BPM, is the most ambient and contemplative piece of the set, an essential counterpoint.
Other key moments include Mexican Parrot by N3xu5 and Codex Spiralis (153 BPM, Gb Major), embodying the most twisted and psychedelic side of full-on; Cutting Mysteries by Sequoya and Cyk, the fastest track at 155 BPM; and Etherealize, the choral closing in which Lemurians, Daksinamurti, and Faeyan converge for an ethereal and profound farewell in G Major.
