Musique de Lune returns with its fifth lunar edition
Rayons De Lune V marks the fifth installment from French imprint Musique de Lune, and it arrives as a confident statement of identity: lush melodies, organic textures, and a narrative arc that bridges classic nineties progressive house with the more introspective strands of contemporary melodic techno. Eight tracks, eight distinct voices, one unified atmospheric vision.
The compilation opens with Ash Mellor's In the Water, a 124 BPM cut in F Minor that sets the tone with layered aquatic synthesis and a gentle low-end pulse. AGUS AMADØR follows with Hidden Paths, a seven-minute journey in Eb Major where melancholic brightness unfolds across an unhurried, hypnotic groove. The collaboration between Sylva de Luna and Saebo on Eagle in the Sky is an early highlight: eight expansive minutes of progressive house in D Major, with arrangements that evolve patiently and with genuine emotional depth.
Yael Loheit delivers the introspective Guilty Feet at 121 BPM, while RYAN (CU) and ODAX shift the mood considerably with Inccubus — the compilation's darkest moment, an organic house piece in A Minor with ritualistic percussion and shadowy atmospherics. 3.14 (AR) contributes the near-eight-minute Stop and Begin, a masterclass in harmonic tension and release in E Minor. The collection closes with Alejo Fochi's Nova Passage and Rfaraz's Born to Fly, both in minor keys, delivering a contemplative and immersive finale.
