With the eleventh installment of the Selecto South America series, South America Avenue cements its reputation as one of the most coherent and geographically distinctive progressive house labels in the Latin American underground circuit. Thirteen tracks, thirteen individual visions of a shared sonic universe, spanning 118 to 123 BPM and building a narrative arc that moves from intimate early-morning introspection to full dancefloor catharsis.
Standout Tracks
The compilation opens with Melodica by Gorof (AR), a C Major statement that sets the melodic tone for everything that follows. Shortly after, Buenos Aires Is Burning by Ayi Holy arrives as the release's most cinematic moment: nearly eight minutes in C Major that single-handedly justify the volume's existence. The duality between urban tension and restrained euphoria is rarely translated into the language of progressive house with such precision.
Cosmos by GNAZ earns the title of most architecturally compelling piece: 8:08 minutes in D Major where every element enters with surgical intent. At the opposite emotional pole, Eushi by Andy Boccia — the longest cut at nearly nine minutes in A Minor — unfolds a hypnotic darkness that contrasts brilliantly with the melodic optimism dominating the tracklist.
Hometown by Delnoro deserves special recognition: the only track at 118 BPM, it functions as a reflective pause, an E Major breath that recontextualises what came before and sets the stage for the closing stretch. Tediosa Reiteración by RRico Pellegrino and Abrepuertas by Zabi round out the volume with distinct character — in G Minor and F Minor respectively — leaving a sophisticated, darkly flavoured impression.
