Out of a forty-track dig, three cuts demand the full spotlight: two because they seat dancefloor producers next to musicians with real jazz biographies, and a third because it is the longest ride of the lot and comes from a duo tied to a sound with a name of its own.
Nublu's Sax and the Percussionist of Two Thousand Records
'Revenge Of The Wankers' (Kora Extended Remix) — 7:07 at 112 BPM in F minor — brings together Oceanvs Orientalis and Ilhan Ersahin, the world-renowned saxophonist who opened the Nublu club in New York's East Village in 2002 and one of jazz's most electronics-fluent names. The original dates back to 2017; Kindisch revived it in 2022 within its Kindisch Stories, and here it runs through Kora's rework, with Scarlett De La Torre in the credits.
The other jazz incursion is 'Toprak' (5:18, 104 BPM, E minor), where DJ Bey works with Arto Tunçboyacıyan: a percussionist of Armenian descent, a collaborator of Joe Zawinul and Chet Baker, present on more than two thousand recordings and leader of the Armenian Navy Band. Kanto Records issued the original in late 2025 and a remix package in February 2026; this selection goes for the original version, the one in direct contact with that percussion.
Nine Minutes of 'Insight'
The longest cut on the entire list — 9:06 — is 'Insight' by Niju and Ninze on Feines Tier, the Cologne-based label and party. It comes from 'Magic Roads', the album the duo released in January 2026, their second after the LPs they signed as Wide Awake, back then still a trio, and it embodies the sound some call Ketapop, one that marked a whole downtempo generation. At 105 BPM in D minor, it also settles who rules the list by sheer numbers: Niju also signs 'Shewolf' in Beyhude's remix and the 'Wichtig' reworked by Christopher Schwarzwalder.
The rest of the dig orbits around these poles, mostly between 100 and 116 BPM. But the curatorial logic is captured in these three cuts: here, downtempo is understood as musicians' music, not just booth material.
