Marco's Draft: Peak Time Techno Delivered with Purpose
Marco Lecaro steps forward with Marco's Draft, a twenty-track selection that reads simultaneously as an introduction and a mission statement. The package unfolds across a tightly curated arc of peak-time techno: controlled builds, breathing arrangements, and a low-end pressure that never lets up from start to finish.
The opening block belongs entirely to Lecaro. «Turn the Night» and «Slow It Down» lock the listener into G Major at 135–133 BPM, sustaining tension without resorting to cheap drops. «Lucky» shifts to F Major and introduces a melodic nuance that softens the impact without losing momentum.
The central stretch is where the chart earns its collective dimension. Tom Wax, DIST_42 and saidflorence deliver six and a half minutes of vocal club techno on «Definitely Maybe» via Phuture Wax Records. The Nicole Moudaber and Space 92 collaboration «Eyes On Me» (TAKEOFF, 137 BPM) ranks among the most urgent cuts in the entire selection, while «Common Dreams» showcases Moudaber's introspective side across an expansive 8:41 journey at 130 BPM.
The closing stretch holds its own: Emmanuel Top's «Acid Phase» on label 541 is a nod to hypnotic trance that slots seamlessly between harder techno cuts; Sam Paganini's «Decode» hits the temperature peak at 138 BPM; and Franco Smith & Lautaro Ibañez round out the journey with «Master Control» (Hypnostate), bringing confident Latin-American production to the table.
