Track nine of 'Synchronicity' belongs to Swarup; track ten closes the record with Bhaskar alongside D-Nox. Father and son, back to back, on the inaugural release from Sounds of Quartzo. Swarup —Juarez Achkar Petrillo— is a pioneer of Brazilian psytrance and one of the creators of the Universo Paralello festival on Pratigi beach; his son Bhaskar, Alok's twin brother with stops at Rock in Rio, Hï Ibiza and Green Valley, is the generation that carried the family name onto the big stages. That a debuting label lands both for its QRTZ001 says plenty about where it was born: Chapada dos Veadeiros, where the community behind the label ties electronic music to nature and the energy of crystals.
The roles are neatly cast. Swarup's 'Back to Life' is progressive house in G major at 126 BPM, the album's fastest tempo alongside the opener. 'High Paradise', already circulating as a single since May, pairs Bhaskar with D-Nox, a German with over twenty-five years behind the decks and a DJ Award on the shelf: 124 BPM in E-flat minor, the most physical closer the set could ask for.
The nursery around them
The rest of the lineup bets on discovery. Binary Bridge opens with 'Breathe In', the longest cut (nearly nine minutes at 126 BPM) and a statement of intent for the organic house block held down by RIGOONI, OCER, Solaris (BR), Hans Gerd, Ancestrall and the Sonnero & Yumi Project pairing, mostly sitting between 120 and 122 BPM. The welcome outlier is 'We Transform' by Naza (Musik) with LaPiratesse on vocals, the record's only indie dance moment at 125 BPM.
The play is clear: the unknowns build the journey and the storied names close it out. For a first release, that kind of billing —a local dynasty, a European veteran and eight wildcards— reads less like a compilation and more like a founding charter.
