Berlin-rooted imprint Amaeo returns with the sixth instalment of its To Be Discovered series, a nine-track VA compilation that reads like a carefully curated manifesto for the emerging melodic house & techno generation. Rather than chasing established names, the label doubles down on its talent-scouting ethos, delivering a release that rewards attentive listening from first beat to last.
Sound and structure
Cyrana sets the tone with Kenopsia (117 BPM, Gb minor) — the very title borrowed from the Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows signals an introspective, texturally rich opening. Paul Schmidpeter's Running Circles nudges the tempo forward before Black Space delivers the compilation's centrepiece: Pareidolia, a 6:52 journey in Gb major that showcases patient arrangement and layered synthesis at its finest.
The mid-section consolidates around 124 BPM with Fec's emotionally direct Breaking My Heart and Manti's club-ready Senses.
