The source material is 'A World No More', the debut Obeka — a Bermudian long settled in Manchester — released in October 2025 on YUKU, the Prague platform that defines itself as a genre-fluid arts oasis. Here that debut passes through fourteen different pairs of hands, and hearing it in sequence means watching each one pull the original toward its own turf.
The first stretch works like a controlled downshift: 'Pon Ya Head' drops to 120 in ONLY NOW's SHATTERED MIX and bounces back to 133 with DJ Fucci, the only cut in the batch tagged Latin Electronic. Metrodome and ANANDA hold the 140 plateau until the record's most eloquent break: T.NO leaves 'Ubuntu' at 88 BPM in A flat major, the first major key in a landscape ruled by minors. And the calm stretches on: Frederic shrinks 'Ready for the Soundman' — the most contested piece here, with four versions — down to 2:06 and 70 BPM, the shortest and slowest point of the journey, almost an interlude.
From there everything climbs again. The 'Appointment with Dr. Blofeld Mix' Jensen Interceptors sign for 'Drillaman' serves as an 85 BPM ramp, and Monibi fires 'Tundra' up to 151, the set's absolute ceiling. After the Ghetto VIP by Helviofox with Obeka himself — the other major-key moment — and Raissa Febriani's 140 rework, the close belongs to Pol100 and 'Fawohodie' at 105: the title names the Adinkra symbol of independence and emancipation that fronts the original album's cover, a work steeped in neo-colonialism and protest. That the journey ends right there, in B flat minor at marching tempo, says more about the project than any press release could.
