Between the 75 BPM of the 'Circle of Time' chillout remix and the 164 of 'Emeralds' sits almost the whole spectrum of electronic music, and this record lives right inside that gap. Reflections gathers twelve reworks by a single remixer, Argentina's Jero Nougues — dubbed a deep progressive star by Electrofans, with his Beatport profile listing support from Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren — and its charm lies not in coherence but in bifurcation: the same songs appear twice, one version facing the dancefloor, the other facing the horizon.
One song, two temperatures
The clearest case is Dwayne W. Tyree's 'Your Love Hurt Me': the Deep House Remix that opens the album runs at 119 BPM while the Chillout Remix drops it to 100 without leaving A minor — the same song told first at night, then at dawn. Beamy's 'Twisted Soul' repeats the trick with titles that read like a mission statement — Organic Sunset Mix versus Sunrise Chill Mix — and Marga Sol's 'Circle of Time' stretches the contrast furthest: from the 6:52 Deep Remix, the longest cut of the set, to a chillout version crawling at 75 BPM.
- 'Dream' is the wildest pendulum: 160 BPM in the straight remix and 92 in the Meditation Mix that closes the album, a drop of nearly half.
- 'Emeralds' at 164 and 'Cici' at 80 mark the two poles of Beamy, the most revisited artist here with seven cuts.
- The shortest track, the Sunrise Chill Mix of 'Twisted Soul' (4:28), runs almost two and a half minutes under the longest — even the durations play the contrast game.
That this exercise comes out of M-Sol Records makes sense: the label producer Marga Sol founded in 2013 specialises precisely in the arc running from deep house to chillout and lounge, and here she hands her own 'Circle of Time' — originally released in 2023 — over to Nougues' scalpel. The result never asks you to pick a side: it asks you to hear the same material in two different bodies.
