Twelve credits, one name: Descoqueo writes every track on Two / One alone — no remixers, no featured vocalists, no collaboration lending its own narrative to anyone else. It's a solo record start to finish, just over an hour of music — 66-odd minutes — carried entirely by one author on the Inner State imprint.
A title that reads backward
The tracklist plays games with its own name. Track 1, "Folded Into One," carries the tag "(Original Outro Mix)" in its title — an outro placed at the front of the record — while track 12, the one that actually closes the album, is called "Two (Before One)," as if insisting something is still coming. Two / One isn't just the record's title; it's the reversed sequencing logic Descoqueo applies to his own credits.
The key palette backs up that sense of a center and a return. Six of the twelve tracks orbit C — "Falling Away," "After the Fall" and "Twin Voices" in C Minor; "Becoming," "On Me" and "Two (Before One)" in C Major — the record's real axis more than any single track. The other six never repeat a key between them: Ab Major, B Minor, E Major, F Minor, Db Minor and Bb Minor each appear exactly once, coloring the edges of a record that never strays from C at its center. Tempo draws the same circle: it opens at 97 BPM with "Folded Into One" (2:29, by far the shortest piece), spends its body moving between 130 and 134, then eases back to 98 and 102 on the last two tracks, almost the same point it started from. Inside that circle, only two tracks — "On Me" and "Mystique," both sitting at 131-134 — get tagged Techno (Peak Time / Driving) instead of Melodic House & Techno: the one stretch where Descoqueo lets go of the melodic control and pushes straight for the floor.
