It opens with Le Youth's 'alone' alongside Robertson and Forester, in A major at 123 bpm; thirty-seven cuts later everything lands on Pig&Dan and Joris Voorn's 'Been There Before', in A minor. The whole selection fits inside that shift: same tonal centre, the lights going down. Exactly what the end of a night asks for.
The first stretch rolls between 121 and 125 bpm with two warnings: Kryder's surge to 132 on 'All My Love' and, right after Rodriguez Jr.'s 'Higher', NTO's dip to 110 with 'Fior Di Macchia', the journey's first real breather. Towards the middle the long originals take over —Andhim's 'Peeve' stretches its 7:26 unhurried— and the Anjunadeep thread surfaces three times: 'Citadel' by Jody Wisternoff and Jamie McDermott, which debuted on Anjunadeep 16 and ended up the third most-streamed track from that compilation; then Because of Art with Steven Weston; and near the end, HANA's 'Illusory'.
Ten minutes of Radio Slave
The second half belongs to the remixes. Helsloot reworks Rodriguez Jr. and Jan Blomqvist's 'Destination Lost' —the producer's second appearance on the list—, Laolu twists 'Hotline', and Radio Slave signs the longest cut of the lot: ten and a quarter minutes over Slope114's 'We'll Find Our Way' that suspend the pulse before the final push. Then comes Notre Dame's take on WhoMadeWho and Tripolism's 'Flying Away With You', lifted from the Cercle Records remix EP that also featured Andhim and meera. A telling detail: Tripolism had already passed through at track two with 'Hurricane'.
Sascha Braemer and Kadosh's Afro House detour on 'Learning To Love' is the trip's only stop in that lane, three cuts from the end, just before 'Been There Before' —Joris Voorn's first single under the Spectrum and Armada deal, and a fixture of his sets across the 2024 festival season— brings the journey back to the tonal centre where it began, now in shadow.
