'Time Is A Circle', the Kasablanca cut that opens this compilation, reads almost like a company motto: the circle is home. Cercle was founded in Paris in 2016 by Derek Barbolla as a streaming platform filming sets in landmark locations, and its label, running since September 2020, has worked as the recorded extension of that audiovisual archive, with around forty singles and EPs from artists who came through the channel. This record accompanies the 2026 edition of its festival at the Air and Space Museum in Le Bourget, the first to stretch across three days, with 44 artists over three stages.
The tracklist captures that hybrid identity well. There is melodic house & techno ('Something Special' by Yo Trane and Arodes, LP Giobbi's 'You Are'), organic house and unapologetic dance/pop, with seven of the ten cuts running between 3:28 and 4:18: song format rather than club tool, which makes sense for a label raised on video, where every track has to carry a four-minute aerial shot. The exception is 'November' by meera (NO), 7:19 of organic house at 118 BPM, the only piece that breathes at club pace.
The nods to the venue are no accident either: Miss Monique titles her cut 'Concorde' and the festival builds an actual Concorde stage between two supersonic jets; she and ANNA — who signs 'Bloom' with Freedom Fighters, the record's 135 BPM peak — both appear on the confirmed lineup. At the other end, Møme and Enfant Sauvage drop to 91 BPM on 'Behind the Line', the widest tempo spread asked to live under one logo.
Parra for Cuva's 'Nightjar' closes in C minor, the most repeated key of the set. The takeaway: Cercle is no longer just documenting extraordinary places; it is editing a sound of its own — melodic, luminous, built for the camera as much as for the floor.
