Thirty tracks into 'Ibiza Summer 2026 (House Hotties from the Heart)', a heavyweight signature waits at the end: 'Live Your Life' by Erick Morillo and Eddie Thoneick. The original dates back to 2010, released on Subliminal with Shawnee Taylor on vocals — as documented on Discogs — and here it closes the compilation in a 3:44 edit at 128 BPM in C minor. That a young label like Weekend Warriors Day caps its summer survey with an anthem from that vocal house era says plenty about the lineage this selection aspires to.
'Deeper Love', the record's sunset
The other cut with a backstory is 'Deeper Love' by Steen Thottrup and Eva Scolaro: 123 BPM, B major and 5:02 tracing one of the calmest stretches of the tracklist. Thottrup is a Danish producer active since 1991 and one of the most recurring names on the Café del Mar compilations; that sundown craft shows, and the song, released as a single in 2024, works here as a melodic breather amid so much 125-128 machinery.
The third focal point is 'Ray Von' by Dan Mckie and Mark Lennon, at 126 BPM in G-flat minor. Mckie also runs the 1980 Recordings label, whose catalogue has drawn support from Pete Tong, Annie Mac and Fatboy Slim, and here he signs one of only two cuts on the record tagged as tech house. The other, 'Got To Love' with Keith Burke, also carries Lennon's name: nobody else repeats a credit across the thirty tracks, so the set's percussive muscle runs entirely through his hands.
Around these three poles orbits the rest of the material, almost all house between 124 and 128 BPM, with Matt Weeks' remix of 'Ibiza Generation' as the longest cut (6:03) and Janod's 'Do This' as the 107 BPM oddity. The real reading, though, lies in the proper names: a legendary closer, a chill out master recycled for the dancefloor, and the tech flank in the hands of a single duo. As a statement of summer intent, few compilations show their cards this clearly.
