The heavyweight climb
The metric peak lands at position 17: Groovearth's 'High' hits 132 bpm, the highest reading of the whole run. But the star-powered ascent waits until the end. 'One' pairs Sasha with Cortese at 130 bpm on Last Night On Earth, the London label Sasha has kept running since 2011 as a home for his more underground side. Three slots later, Kölsch — Rune Reilly Kølsch, out of Copenhagen, who set IPSO rolling in 2016 with the 'Dogma' collaborations alongside Michael Mayer — wraps up 'Get Lost' in 4:34, surgical brevity. And number 39 is recent history: 'When It Kicks' by Green Velvet and Layton Giordani, heard here in SCRIPT's remix, was the founding single of MADMINDS, the label Giordani built because Green Velvet, his mentor, urged him to start it rather than keep the track for his own imprint. It runs at 129 bpm over 4:22, the shortest and one of the most direct cuts here.
The close restores the calm: 'The Entirety' by Maxim Lany and Joplyn drops to 122 in F major and leaves the feeling of having crossed the melodic scene end to end. There are rewards for the full listen too: Yulia Niko signs two remixes ('Alive' and 'Real Dancer'), and only Radiate and HABITAT repeat as labels across forty positions.
