Between Traxxdealer's 'prayer' at 67 BPM and Freebot and Dj Fucci's 'XPLOSION' at 160 lie almost a hundred beats; few festival selections stretch that wide without snapping. The trick is arithmetic: nearly every slow tempo here is exactly half of a fast one. 67 pulses under 134; 72 under 144; 77 under 154. Rather than a BPM staircase, this is a building of double-times where the DJ picks a floor without ever changing the pulse.
The 140 axis
Thirteen of the twenty-eight cuts live between 140 and 150: that's the tribal, guaracha-driven engine of the batch. Nick León's 'Xtasis' with Dj Babatr —the Miami producer alongside the Caracas raptor house pioneer, on a cut Resident Advisor placed among 2022's tracks of the year— sets the standard at 140, orbited by WRACK's 'BUZZBUZZ', 'el guaro dgo' (2:39, the shortest shot on the record) and WOST's 'Yamal', which at 5:50 is the longest build, holding 142 with warehouse patience. Above it sit only 'Fiesta' at 155 and 'XPLOSION' at 160: the ceiling, best used in short doses.
Below 101 there are six pressure valves at dembow tempo: 'Rápido & Lento ;)' by Brenda with Verraco —co-founder of Medellín label TraTraTrax, which also signs 'IIIIII (Veneno)' by 1OO1O here— drops to 83 without killing the floor, while 'raum' in the DNGDNGDNG remix (69) and 'hpta karranga' (77) work as half-time breathers, not comedowns.
The sequence draws itself: ignition through the middle ramp —'Alocatebb' at 109, 'CORRE ANTHEM' at 115, 'Perro de Agua' in the Phran remix at 120, Siete Catorce's 'Sutil' at 128, INVT's 'SALSA SWING' at 130—, a long plateau on the 140 axis, brief spikes at 155-160 and a final drop into 'DEMBOTRONIC' at 72, right where the body is still counting 144. The physics of tempo comes pre-solved.
